🚨 Kentucky lawmakers are considering House Bill 4 (HB 4), a bill that would criminalize the grooming of minors.
Grooming is the intentional process predators use to build trust, manipulate, and normalize sexual behavior with children. HB 4 would close a dangerous gap in Kentucky law by making this predatory behavior a crime and giving law enforcement tools to intervene earlier to protect vulnerable children.
Protecting kids means stopping exploitation before it escalates.

This bill makes sexual extortion a crime, meaning it’s illegal to threaten or pressure someone into sexual acts (including sending nude photos or videos!) against their will. - What is the time commitment?
Visiting your youth twice a month and touching base by text or call once a week.
-What if I am uncertain about my capacity to mentor right now, but I am still interested?
You will meet or have a phone call with a staff member to answer any questions you may have. You aren’t making a commitment by expressing interest or even attending the training!
— if I am busy in this season, should I still get my training started?
Absolutely! Just because you go through the training and are fully onboarded, doesn’t mean you will even be paired right away. Mentors have had to wait sometimes months or more to be paired, but getting the onboarding process started will help you be ready whenever you are at the capacity to mentor!

We felt led by God to launch Safe Passage six years ago when we learned that children were being sexually trafficked in Kentucky.

We are in the schools this week talking about sexual abuse and child trafficking. Please pray for these brave students who are addressing childhood abuse and trauma. Pray for them to take steps toward healing and freedom. 🖤 We love what we do!
