mentor training

Safe Passage is a Christian organization with a mission to end child trafficking and exploitation. Our goal is to walk alongside impacted youth to provide the support they need to end exploitation, overcome trauma, and step into a hope-filled life by knowing Jesus. This support is provided through Christian mentors who walk alongside these youth in evangelism and discipleship. We have only TWO mentor trainings per year. Register below.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What if I am uncertain about my capacity to mentor, but I am still interested?

A: No worries! When you register below, we will call you to answer any questions you may have. By registering, you are only expressing interest, you don't need to make a full commitment right now!

Q: What does the onboarding process require?

A: When you submit this form stating your interest in mentoring, we will have a staff member call you to talk through next steps. The process includes an application, background check, "get to know you" meeting, webinars, and an in-person training! It can take a few months to complete, which is why we encourage people to go ahead and start the process even if they want to mentor later on.

Q: What does the mentorship commitment look like?

A: Mentors are required to visit with their youth twice a month. The mentor and youth work out their outing to visit when their schedules permit.

Q: How do I know if I will make a good mentor?

A: Our kids like to hang out with mentors who are easy going, good listeners, patient, non-judgy, and fun! If you like to eat, laugh, and can handle a few curve balls from a teenager- you'll make a great mentor!
